Our first class at the Fish & Game was fabulous. It was good to see some returning students from the ole Fitness Zone days!

Because it’s such a big open space I thought it would be nice to let folks drop in … especially if it was hard to commit to a full 6 week session. So come on by any Tuesday evening now through May 17th. Class starts at 5:30pm.

Drop in rate will be $10.

ScienceDaily (Aug. 23, 2010) — Researchers from Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) have found that yoga may be superior to other forms of exercise in its positive effect on mood and anxiety. The findings, which currently appear on-line at Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, is the first to demonstrate an association between yoga postures, increased GABA levels and decreased anxiety.

As someone who has friends afflicted by the pain of Fibromyalgia, this is good news.

According to new research conducted at Oregon Health & Science University, yoga exercises may have the power to combat fibromyalgia — a medical disorder characterized by chronic widespread pain. The research is being published in the November 10 online edition of the journal Pain and will appear online on Oct. 14.
